The 740 Men's Network is based upon an amazing passage of Scripture found in I Chronicles 7:40:
All these were the children of Asher, heads of their fathers’ houses, choice men, mighty men of valor, chief leaders. And they were recorded by genealogies among the army fit for battle; their number was twenty-six thousand (NKJV). The tribe of Asher demonstrates the kind of men we aspire to become. While this tribe was not the biggest in Israel, they represented the "cream of the crop." They were men of honor, virtue, strength, and influence. The 740 Men's Network is committed to growing men in "Four Dimensions of Manhood."
1. Fatherhood - We want men who know how to be faithful husbands and loving fathers. We also seek men who have the Father's heart and are willing to reach out to those who have never experienced the overwhelming love of God. We want to see a growing army of men who have been loved to life by God the Father, and who are willing to become spiritual fathers to a generation of fatherless young men.
2. Character - We want to be men of our word. We desire to walk in integrity before our families and our communities. We desire to grow in Christlikeness so that our lives mirror the words and actions of Jesus. Manhood and Christlikeness are synonymous. Jesus is the standard for manhood. We are serious in our pursuit of Christlike character.
3. Boldness - The Bible says the "righteous are as bold as a lion." We are looking for men of courage who are unafraid to stand for truth. We want to be men who love God and hate sin; men who are willing to boldly love and boldly serve; men of faith who are willing to step out in faith to accomplish great things with God.
4. Leadership - We want to see men stepping forward to assume positions of leadership in every sphere of society. We are committed to addressing the needs of men in the marketplace. We want to equip men to walk in Kingdom power and authority at their workplace and in their community. We are looking for men who will lead like Jesus in their marriage, their home, their church, their workplace, and their world. Jesus said, "Make disciples of all nations." We are looking for men who want to invest their lives in making Jesus' dream come true.
