Welcome!

We want to welcome you to Living Stones' Ethnic Embrace. God has a BIG heart for all the peoples of the world, and we do too! That's why we are excited to have one of our three locations in the East Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago.

You might be asking, "Why this particular neighborhood?" In a word – DIVERSITY! East Rogers Park boasts of having the most ethnically diverse zip code in the entire United States! Within a four mile radius, there are an estimated 150 different nationalities. The local high school is home to students who speak 53 different languages. Each year nearly 60,000 new immigrants move to Chicago, and many of these are from the least evangelized nations of the world.

The Scriptures are clear about how we are to treat those who move into our neighborhoods from a foreign country: "When a foreigner lives with you in your land, don't take advantage of him. Treat the foreigner the same as a native. Love him like one of your own" (Leviticus 19:34, Message).

This is why we call this work Ethnic Embrace. We want to open our arms and hearts wide to embrace this kaleidoscope of nations which God has assembled in Chicago. We want to truly "love them as one of our own!"

We will do this in a variety of ways:
  • Teaching English as a second language
  • Planting lifeGROUPS throughout the neighbourhood to help build friendships and provide spiritual and emotional support. We will start by meeting in our own building first on Monday and Thursday nights.
  • Offering music classes
  • Providing special classes to help build strong marriages and families
Please consult this website for a schedule of the programs we are currently offering.

We'll be looking forward to meeting you soon!
